Boy's Best Friend
Jacob is a very "wet" baby. If I put him on his belly, he almost always pukes. Rusty is waiting around to clean it up.

The Big Day
Today we went to court and finalized Jacob's adoption. We were joined by Sam's parents, and his brother-in-law Thomas. We were grateful to have them all there.
This is us as we waited to go into the courtroom. It was an early morning for all of us!
My two cute boys. They are different as night and day, and each adores the other. One of the best parts of being a mom is watching your kids love each other.

Exersaucer Fun!
My sister Rachelle lent us her exersaucer, and it's been EXACTLY what we needed! Jacob loves it!!! It didn't take long for him to figure out how to work all the little activities.
At first his legs were too short and he just hung in the seat. But now his feet reach the bottom and he can turn himself around.

Slightly tired
He did it again today, and even funnier, I hear "snore". . . bounce. . . bounce. . . still sound asleep!

Where's the baby?
Without a bonk or a cry, he had wiggled himself out of the swing and onto the floor. How he did this, I have no idea. But he was happy as can be, chillin' under the swing!
BTW--he does not always look like a deer in the headlights, it's his response to the flash on the camera.

Visit from Savanna
I finally asked Savanna, Jacob's birthmom, if she minded if I posted pictures of her. She was totally fine with it, so here she is with Jacob. I know she thinks Jacob looks like his birthfather, but I see tons of resemblance to her.
She's been able to visit almost every month since Jacob was born, so she gets to watch him grow and change. I get so lazy about sending her pictures and reports because what's that compared to the real thing?!
Adam, as usually, did not want to be left out. Especially since Jacob was involved!

My life is a game show
So, sometimes I feel like I'm on a game show. This particular game show is inspired by Name That Tune.
Scene--3 contestants, all women. One announcer, let's call him Sam (don't tell him I told you, but I think Sam secretly wishes he could be the voice over for movie trailers. Or that someone would pay him to read books on tape where all the characters have different accents. I digress. . .).
A table in the center of the stage.
A lovely, under-dressed woman brings out the first challenge: an adorable 6 month old baby boy (named Jacob) wearing just a diaper.
Contestant #1: Well Sam, I think I can change that diaper with 5 wipes.
Contestant #2: I pass.
Contestant #3: I can change that diaper with 4 wipes!
(Dramatic music)
Announcer: Okay, before we proceed, we're going to open the diaper. Let's take a look! (I won't describe it here, too gross for most people).
Contestant #2: I'm going to hold--I can do it with 4 wipes.
Contestant #1: I'm a little nervous, but I think I can do it with 3 wipes.
Contestant #2: CHANGE THAT DIAPER!
Announcer: Can she do it? Let's see folks! Wow, look at her go--using the front of the diaper to wipe that baby virtually clean. Now one wipe has been used. Now two--and the baby is clean! Judges, can you verify for us? Yes folks, she has changed the diaper in just 2 wipes. She wins $500 for making her bid, and an additional $500 for using even less wipes.
Thanks for tuning in, and we'll see you in a few hours for CHANGE THAT DIAPER!
