This is a self-portrait taken by Adam on a cell phone:
When Adam was Jacob's age I made him a duvet cover. As I sewed the squares together, he became very attached. In the end, I had to cut off the back and just give it to him as his special "blue blankie." As it got dragged all over, I decided to cut it in half. Well, we lost one half. Then I sewed some leftover pieces together. We lost the second half. Eventually we lost the spare. Now Adam has adopted MY blanket made by MY mom when I was a child--ironically it was made from the same material. I had a 20 year old box of scraps, which I pieced together to make Adam's original Blue Blankie.
We spent a Sunday afternoon at Sam's mom's house, and Jacob fell in love with a blanket that she had made for her children when they were little. It's white and soft and silky. Well, he watches his brother closely, and now understands that HE must carry his blankie around the house, cuddle with it, etc. So here are the boys in front of the fire, with their blankets.
