Poor mouth
Jacob is upset in this photo, and if you look closely you can see that this pic was taken right before he got his molars, canines, and incisors (in that order). No wonder he's a little sad.

Brothers
Adam and Jacob were reading a book together or something like that. I always think they are so cute from the back--so dark and so blonde. I often refer to them as salt and pepper.

Niagara falls
On the way home we flew out of Buffalo, so we left a little early and visited Niagara Falls. Here we are on the Maid of the Mist. Trust me, we needed these blue ponchos or we would have been soaking wet!

Saying Goodbye
The boys had such a great time in New York! I am so glad that they've had a chance to know my grandma Edie--she's so special to me, and it's so meaningful to have pictures with them and her.
And here's our self-portrait using the timer. Not amazing, but everyone was in the picture!

Church sites
Of course we had to include a visit to the church sites while we were so close. First, we went to the Hill Cumorah. Jacob was asleep, and we were all tired so we enjoyed watching the new Joseph Smith movie. The end was sad (when Joseph and Hyram were killed). Adam was particularly sad when he learned that Hyram was his great-great-great-great-grandfather.
Adam rolled down the hill--this is Jacob's version of rolling down the hill.

Adam at the entrance to the Sacred Grove. He was still pretty sad. They've expanded this A LOT, and I think we took a 3 mile circuit! The boys were fine, hanging out in the stroller, though.
We saw the Joseph Smith cabin, where the Angel Moroni visited Joseph Smith. It was interesting to see that he slept in a room with 5 other boys at that time.

Canandaigua Lake part 2
After having so much fun, we decided to go back to the lake with swim gear.
The weather was beautiful, and we had so much fun! Jacob didn't like the water, but he LOVED the sand.
Adam, on the other hand, is a little fish and swam and swam.

For the Birds
One of the boys' favorite things was to watch out the window for the birds. Grandma puts out birdseed, so they get quite a lot of them!
Adam loved taking pictures of them, so that explains why some of these are blurry.
Here's a broad view out the window. The yellow are gold finches, we also saw house finches, blackbirds, blue jays, cardinals, and more.
To put it mildly, Jacob is now obsessed with birds. He points them out wherever we go, and is always on the lookout for more. We bought a bird feeder and hope to attract some to our back yard.

Canandaigua Lake
One afternoon when we had just a few hours, we went and walked along Canandaigua Lake. The boys waded in, and had fun throwing rocks into the water.
Mmmm. You can see why I didn't go in--slimy green seaweed anyone?
