Warning: Weak of stomach should not read

Adam: Dad, look at this booger! Emily: Oh gross, Adam! Here's a tissue. Adam: No, it's my booger, and I'm going to eat it. Sam: Do you need any salt? Emily: I have to leave the room.

A Happy Ending

This saved us a trip to the hospital for more x-rays. And thank goodness I cleaned my bathroom this week!

No April Fools

My conversation with Adam:

"Mom, I swallowed that thing."

"What thing?"

"That thing from the wall."

"You swallowed a nail?"

"Yeah."

So, first to American Fork hospital for an x-ray--sure enough, he swallowed a nail. The GI specialist referred us to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake. After another round of x-rays and a check with a metal detector, they sent us home.

Apparently if an object is less than 5 cm, the body can usually get rid of it on its own (2% chance of bowel perforation), including nails, open safety pins, stick pins, and more! Adam is on some laxatives, and we go for more x-rays in 2 days!
